WATERWORLD - VIETNAM'S MEKONG DELTA

Away from the big city lights, where land meets water, the mighty Mekong ends an epic journey which begins at the foothills of the Tibetan Plateau and gains momentum as it wends through another five countries before splintering into innumerable waterways and emptying into the South China Sea. The world's tenth longest river is a lifeline, connecting and sustaining countless communities. Here in Vietnam's most populous provinces, a land of stilt and floating homes, the fertile soils nourish the entire nation. The labyrinth of waterways, slender wooden bridges, and floating markets stop you in your tracks, but for many people, the Mekong Delta is home, and entire families navigate the waterways as a way of life.
